In addition to being the most qualified and experienced to take on this role, you should vote for CK as President-Elect of the NBA because she has the historic NBA insight, leadership skills, nationwide relationships and unwavering commitment and support necessary:

  1. To raise NBA’s collective voice in furtherance of its mission at a critical time in our history, especially during the 2020 U.S. Presidential election;

  2. To implement policies and procedures to increase organization and attendance at NBA events, fiscally strengthen and create longevity of the association; and,

  3. To engage individual members and leaders to strengthen the NBA as the only one of its kind – a nationwide organization of African American attorneys, law professors and judges.

CK has a deep appreciation and abiding commitment of the objectives of the NBA, which are to:

• Advance the science of jurisprudence

• Improve the administration of justice
• Preserve the independence of the judiciary and to uphold the honor and integrity of the legal profession
• Promote professional and social intercourse among the members of the American and the international bars
• Promote legislation that will improve the economic condition of all American citizens, regardless of race, sex or creed in their efforts to secure a free and untrammeled use of the franchise guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States; and
• Protect the civil and political rights of the citizens and residents of the United States

Her commitment to these principles is evident in her international trial practice and civil rights and litigation experience honed over the past 30 years.

As a lifetime member of the NBA, CK has demonstrated her dedication and a proven track record of supporting, sponsoring, serving and speaking for the association. She has been publicly and privately recognized for her contributions to the NBA, including but not limited to receiving:
